An interruption...

Please excuse the interruption of the usual adorable kiddos on this blog to allow me to advertise.

I'm selling my jeep.  It's very bittersweet. I LOVE my car, but we've outgrown it. When we had just Hannah she sat in the middle in the backseat and her seat fit perfect.  Now with a kid on each side behind the drivers seat and passenger seat, we're just too cramped in the front.  It's a sad day for me. I thought I would drive this until the wheels fell off.

2004 Jeep Liberty
$6,500
(blue book is over $6,900)
93,000 miles.
Very clean and in great condition.

I have more pictures and information if you are interested.  Just e-mail me at: tyler8704@yahoo.com

We think we are going to get a Nissan Altima.  A few years ago my jeep got rear-ended and I had an Altima as my rent car. I LOVED it.  I know it doesn't seem much roomier, but it actually is.  We took one home over the weekend and I fell in love.  Funny how they let you take these cars home and let you fall in love, right?!

I would love a really big SUV, but we're trying to stay practical with these gas prices.  I also know that this car will endure spilled milk, possible crayon marks and dirty shoes, so we're trying to keep that in mind price wise. ha!

Missing my girl

On Saturday my mom left.  She's been here for over a week helping with Hannah and Ethan...and laundry, dishes, grocery shopping, etc.  She has been a HUGE help.  The original plan was for her to stay until this coming Thursday, but we decided to send Hannah home with her for a few days and spend a few days alone with Ethan. She was so excited to go, but I sure am missing her!

Such a silly girl.

I love all these pictures because it shows her cute personality, which is SO HARD to capture on camera these days.

She woke up from her nap on Friday totally hamming it up, so I took advantage.

Love her so much!

Love that mouth full of teeth.

Can't wait for you to get home, sweet pea!

Comparisions

There are times I look at Ethan and thinks he looks just like Hannah when she was a newborn, but for the most part, I don't think they favor each other.  What do you think?

Ethan pictures

Well, some of our family who have left have been asking for more pictures of Ethan...so here we go...

I really feel like he changes by the hour.  Each time I take a picture he looks different than the picture before.

This is what Ethan thought of his first bath at home.

But he sure liked the warm towel when it was over.

Sweet baby boy.

I'm loving every minute of having a newborn around again! It's so simple this time. Ha!

A fun week

The week of Ethan's birth I tried to make it very special for Hannah. I know she didn't really know what was going on, but I just wanted to treasure my last days with her really build some memories with just the two of us. I wish daddy could have joined us.

Monday morning we went to McDonalds.

And when we got home we played dress up and rode our horse.

And tried out Ethan's tub. Which was sad to me because I remember when Hannah fit so perfectly in this tub!

And played on our new big girl swing.

On Tuesday we started our day at the park.

After babysitting that afternoon, we headed to Target to pick up a gift for a friend having a baby soon and then we met daddy at Wal-Mart to stock up on some stuff for a few weeks.

(Thanks for the M&M's, Judson. They kept me occupied and made a HUGE mess!)

Wednesday Hannah helped mommy get everything ready for lots of company and for Ethan's arrival!

And I can't believe he's here now!!!

Ethan Update

Well, we're home as a family of 4. Although, with all the company (which we wouldn't change for anything) we are more like a family of 8 right now! It's nice having all the extra hands to help out.

Hannah hasn't shown much interest in the fact that Ethan is here.  She's way more busy playing with all her cousins that have been around.  Well, we FINALLY got her to sit down and hold Ethan for the first time.

The picture isn't great because it didn't last long! But, it's progress. At least she acknowledged that Ethan has been born. ha!

This morning we had Ethan's 2 day check up.  He checked out perfect (Praise the Lord) and is well on his way back up to birth weight.  Our next check is in 2 weeks, but we might sneak in for a weight check in a few days to see how little man is growing.

Don't worry - I've had some much needed sleep from the time of this picture. I don't look quite as much like a zombie anymore!

Ethan is so content. The ONLY time he shows off his lungs is during a diaper change. He hates it. Luckily he is already calm by the time we pick him up from the changing table.  When he's ready to eat he just starts nibbling on this hand or blanket and that's mommy's que.

I love his little droopy lip in that picture.  We've been super blessed by Ethan, already. He's just a perfect fit to our little family.

He's here!!!

Well, here's the story..

Last night I put Hannah to bed with tears in my eyes as I thought of how much our lives were about to change. Sad tears and happy tears combined.  Knowing we had to be at the hospital at 5:00 a.m., we set our alarms for 4:00 a.m. and I tossed and turned until 1:30, until I finally was able to get 2.5 hours of sleep. I'm paying for that now!  Whew....long day!

Life is good after an epidural!

I got all hooked up and ready to go.  My pitossin (sp?) started at about 6:30, my water was broke at 8:30, I got my epidural at 9:00 and I was ready to push at 10:45 and he was here at 10:55!

First family photo

And my sweet baby boy!!!

Love him already!!

He's PERFECT! More pictures to come!!

We've arrived

Well, after 9 months of excitement, planning and anticipation, Ethan's birthday has arrived.  I will be induced tomorrow, bright and early.  As I type this post, I have so many emotions.  I CAN'T WAIT to meet this little guy and to have a son.  I have so many visions of a little Wesley and that Ethan will be just like his daddy. Which is a man of integrity, humbleness and good looks, of course.

(This is Wes on his 2nd birthday - I picture Ethan looking just like him. Hannah looks NOTHING like him!)

My heartstrings pull for this little girl, too, who is about to be forever changed as well.

As much as I know that she will love her little brother and be such a great big sister, I can't help but worry about our transition time.  She's such a good little "mommy," and is going to be a great helper, but I know her little world is about to be rocked.  I've prayed time after time that the cross over of a family of three to a family of four would be a peaceful one. I know the Lord will take care of every detail.

Ethan Wesley, I can't wait to meet you. You've been a little stubborn already with not coming early like your sister and being positioned in a way that might make it hard on your momma to get you here, but I wouldn't have it any other way.  When I think of your daddy and sister I'm so in love with them and what the Lord has given me, but something is missing - and that's you! To say you are already so loved is a huge understatement.  I can't wait to hold you and count all your fingers and toes and Praise the Lord for the miracle of creating you.

Only a few more hours, little guy!

Oh - and on the poll to the right about Ethan's arrival....looks like the majority was wrong! In fact, there was probably only 1 person that was right.  My due date is Monday, so if I wasn't being induced I'd be willing to bet I would have been late. Thanks for playing!
