The beach

Thursday afternoon we headed to my parents house to drop our kids off so that Wes and I could enjoy some alone time at the beach.  I know I've mentioned this 1,000 times, but the beach is definitely our favorite vacation spot.  We prefer nice white beaches with blue waters, but sometimes Galveston has to do! We left the kids with my parents and headed to Crystal Beach.

Friday morning when we got the the beach we unpacked and then decided we wanted to take a ride on the beach in the golf cart we rented. The only problem is that it was freeeeezing. So, we headed back to the cabin and decided to take the ferry ride to Galveston for the day and eat and shop.

Friday afternoon/evening it warmed up and we went back on the beach and that evening we went to dinner on the water and it was really nice.

(all my pictures were with my phone and pretty much all came out bad!)

Saturday morning (after sleeping until 10!!!) my parents came up and stayed the night and brought our kids to us.  As much as we enjoyed our alone time, our kids also love the beach so we thought we would let them join us.

Ethan fussed alot of the trip because he just didn't sleep well being away from home, but he managed to have a GOOD time in the sand!

Hannah, as always, loved the sand and had a great time.

It was too cold to ever get in bathing suits, but the kids didn't seem to mind. Ethan was not a fan of the water anyway...every time a wave wold crash he would say: NO!!! It was really funny and I'm actually glad he didn't like it, otherwise I'm afraid i would have been chasing him in the water all day.

Ethan with his FILTHY beach face driving the golf cart - his favorite thing to do, I think.

We had a great time, even though we didn't come home with awesome tans.  I love spending time away with my family and it was a bonus to have my mom and dad there on Saturday!  We will definitely do this again soon!

Uganda!

We have been involved with Parental Care Ministries for 4 years now.  It has been such a blessing to our family to be able to assist in getting these kids what they need to survive daily.  PCM gives food, housing and education to orphans and needy children.  We've had the opportunity to meet some of the Uganda children while they are here on a choir tour.  It's been so much fun and we are extra excited because one of our sponsored kids, Julie, is here!!

She's the youngest of the group here and she is not actually an orphan. She actually has the most amazing parents, ever!! Her mom and dad are Pastor Emmy and Supermom, who started the orphanage   Since Emmy and Supermom have adopted thousands of children, we help with Julie's needs and we are so grateful to be able to do it and have her in our lives!

Julie and her friend, Dianah will be coming to stay with us on Monday for a few days.  We are so happy and Hannah can't wait!

Dianah loves babies and apparently they love her too! :)

A family picture, minus our adopted children, Catherine and Lamson, who didn't get to make this US trip. I hope to meet them one day (soon) in Uganda!

I'm finding out that we are not only blessing these kids  with our resources, they are the true blessing to everyone they meet.  Their smiles are contagious and the way they worship the Lord is amazing.  These kids could teach us alot!

Contact me if you are interested in sponsoring - I promise you will be super blessed!

Summer fun!

On Monday the weather was so pretty! It was hot outside and we LOVED having the sun beaming on us. We played outside ALL DAY.

Last year Hannah liked water, but this year she seems to LOVE it.  She doesn't mind water in her face as much and she had so much fun in the sprinkler.

Wes bought this bike last week from our neighbor.  I thought he was crazy because it will be years before Ethan can really ride this, but Ethan loves it.  He gets on it every time we go outside and says "vroom vroom." I think he thinks it's a motorcycle.

This is what Jersey thought of our fun day outside...

Pretty girl.

Ethan having fun with a ball bigger than him.

Today it decided to be in the 50's. I'm sooo over the cold weather. We have so much more fun when it's nice enough to play outside.  My arms ended up with a little sunburn and we ate dinner outside on the patio.  I can't wait for summer...even the 100 degree temps. There's nothing I don't like about summer! In fact, I'm boycotting these cold weather temps and I packed up all our warm clothes - so if you see my kids shivering in their spring outfits, it's not their fault :)
