Happy Halloween!

Last year we started sharing with people that I was pregnant 2 days before our Halloween party. So, I was so excited when I found these costumes online!

We didn't have time to order them, so my sweet husband put everything together for the oven while I made the apron. We didn't go to a Halloween party this year, so no costumes for us. Wes was so disappointed! (yeah right).

Fun times...and I can't believe this was a year ago! Now we have a 6 month old baby. Crazy!!

Pumpkin Patch

So I know I shocked everyone by writing a few months ago about going to the zoo for the first time....well, this weekend was another first!

On Friday Hannah and I went to our first pumpkin patch!
(If I ever did this as a kid, I don't remember doing it...sorry mom and dad!)

Hannah is going to be a flower for Halloween. Don't you think that is fitting since she always has a huge flower on her head?

Some of Hannah's friends came along for the fun. They are all boys and they were dressed up as a monkey, giraffe and a skunk! How cute!!!

This picture cracks me up. Look at Hannah's face. Adorable.

We had lots of fun! I can't wait to make this a family tradition. There are hay rides, face painting and all kinds of things to do for older kids...and it's all FREE! Can't beat that. We left without a pumpkin, though. I don't particularly enjoy getting the guts out of a pumpkin, so I figured I'd wait a couple more years until I have to for Hannah' sake.

My best friend Ashley made this for Hannah for Halloween (with an adorable outfit included inside, since Hannah is too young for candy. haha) Isn't she so crafty!? I loved it.

Can't wait to take Hannah trick or treating!

Having Fun!

Hannah smiles ALL THE TIME and it's so contagious! You can't help but look at this little girl and grin. She loves playing and has especially loved her exersaucer......still only for short times.

And incase you didn't notice......

We can touch now!

Sleepless Nights

Wednesday night we put Hannah to bed on her back, swaddled, paci in mouth, in her sleep positioner, holding her bear.

When we went to check on her 10 minutes later, this is what we found:I know I did the WRONG thing by giggling and taking pictures, but it was just too cute.

*My camera has an orange flash that goes off before it takes the picture and lately it has started really bothering Hannah....incase you are wondering why she is either not looking or has her eyes closed in every picture*

Blue Jeans and Sweet Potatoes!

Yesterday I tried some jeans on Hannah that I've been waiting to fit her....and they finally did...sorta!!!
I thought she looked so cute and like such a big girl!!

Also, we tried sweet potatoes last night!!

She loved them! And this was the end result.....

Yummy!

What's New?

Well, based on the poll it seems like Hannah looks most like....both of us! I guess Wes and I look alike, huh?

This weekend Hannah and I went to Granna and Pawpaw's house while Wes went dove hunting. We had lots of fun!

So much fun that Hannah rarely slept while we were there...morning or night! haha!

We went to see my nephew, Grayson, be baptized. Hannah was a little fussy (probably upset that she wasn't getting all the attention), so I didn't get any pictures!

This past week we started giving Hannah rice cereal! She seems to like it and looks like a little bird with her mouth open waiting for the next bite.

I think more ends up on her face than in her mouth. She's loving it and we're excited about starting new foods soon.

Other than that, nothing is new with us. I'll keep the pictures coming....

Cloth or Disposable?

I have a friend who has a 6 month old. From the beginning, she has used cloth diapers. I thought she was crazy, but she just told m about a great new diapering system! It's called the Gro Baby, and it's an all-in-two system, meaning you have a reusable outer shell and then you can just change the inside portion when it's wet. The best part is that they just released a disposable option (they only had cloth before) for the inside portion, called Bio Soakers

Here is a link:
http://www.thenaturalbabyco.com/gro-baby-biode

They are a one size system, meaning they'll fit from 8 to 35 lbs.

The new soaker pads are biodegradable and compostable. They're breathable and hypo-allergenic, as well as being free from dyes, fragrances, plastics, and chlorine.

They come in packages of 50 for $19.99 and can be purchased from The Natural Baby Company (http://www.thenaturalbabyco.com/). If you don't already have a GroBaby shell, you can purchase a starter kit from them for $35.95 (which includes a shell and box of pads). I'm looking forward to trying these out!

The Natural Baby Company will be sending me a free starter kit for writing this blog post and for giving you all the details! How exciting!

Getting there...

I think we are about to hit a milestone....

Hannah has started somewhat sitting up with the help of her hands. Sometimes she just leans forward and can't stop!

We've been practicing and I think within the next few weeks she'll be sitting straight up on her own! She's also started making some moves that looks like she is thinking REALLY hard about crawling, but I know we are still a few months away from that. So for now, I'm just enjoying my complacent baby that almost sits!

Bigger isn't always better!

One of my friends let me in on her secret bow making website. Her daughter always has adorable homemade bows. Well, after reading the tutorial I realized that I didn't have enough fingers to hold everything together to make the bows.

So, I thought a BOWDABRA was the perfect solution. This is a little device that basically just holds the bow together so your hands are free to twist, curl, etc. Well anyway, here was my first product with the help of the bowdabra!

Everyone knows I love big bows, but this might be a bit much!Although, Hannah seems to love it. haha!

Bithday Girl!

Well, Hannah must have known that today was her 5 month birthday. Apparently she couldn't sleep with all of the anticipation growing inside of her. She woke up 3 times last night! She never does that. Don't worry, I had a nice little talk with her and she now understands that we don't wake up in the middle of the night.

So yes, Hannah is 5 months old today. I know each "monthly" post I say how I can't believe she's growing so fast, but it's so true. I had 2 friends that saw her this week for the first time in a while and they couldn't believe how big she has gotten.

At 5 months Hannah is.....
  • Enjoying her exersaucer
  • Talking like crazy
  • In love with her pacifier
  • Happy, happy, happy
  • Grabbing for toys and for Jersey
  • Staring at everything we eat
  • Loves TV
  • Spinning in her jumper (not quite jumping yet!)
  • Completely grown out of newborn clothes - so sad!
  • In size 1 diapers
  • Grabbing mommy's hair anytime she gets the opportunity
  • So smiley on walks and enjoys being outside
  • Laughing all the time
That's all I can think of, but there is so much more. Hannah is just a sweet pea. What a blessing this little girl is.

I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him. 1 Samuel 1:27
