Easter 2013

We had a fun Easter celebration that last about a week.  We had parties, egg hunts and most importantly, we told Hannah and Ethan the story of how Jesus died on a cross and rose from the dead and he's alive today!  Hannah is starting to understand that concept and it's exciting to see her get excited about it.

My mom made the grandkids some super cute Easter shirts to sport at all their Easter festivities. There was a cute little chevron skirt to match, but Hannah had already taken it off when I thought about taking a picture.

My friend Leslie had a fun Easter party on the Monday before Easter, but Hannah had a complete meltdown, didn't hunt 1 egg and we left after only being there for about 30 minutes, so there are no pictures from that party.

Aunt Jenn and Uncle James had us over Friday night (along with the Hayes family) for pizza, dessert and dying Easter eggs.  It was so much fun and Aunt Jenn is so clever and put Ethan's eggs into a whisk so he couldn't drop them. Ethan loved it and it saved us from a big mess!

Hannah had so much fun, too and made some pretty eggs!

Saturday morning we woke up and headed to the Easter egg hunt at the church where Hannah and Ethan go to Mother's Day Out.

Ethan enjoyed the hunt, but he liked eating the candy more.

Andrew was SO CUTE and enjoyed the eggs, too!

Sunday morning we woke up really late (as we usually tend to do on Sunday mornings) and we rushed to get out the door for church. I didn't get any cute pictures of my kids together before church. I was so sad, but it's a miracle that we even make it to church each week, so trying to throw in a photo-shoot with two uncooperative kids just doesn't happen.

After church we went to the Hayes' for lunch and to hunt easter eggs.  I gave the kids their baskets and Hannah was pretty excited!  Ethan was excited about his recorder that was in his basket.  He's quite the musician and loves to make LOUD noise!

Hannah loved hunting for eggs! It rained this morning, but we decided it wasn't too wet to hunt eggs. We had a few hundred eggs for 8 kids.  These kids left with TONS of candy!

Except for Ethan...who had crashed out before we made it to the egg hunt!

Poor guy! He was up alot of the night on Saturday and then we woke him up early on Sunday for church and he just couldn't hang anymore.

I sure enjoyed our fun Easter festivities this year!

Happy Easter! HE IS RISEN!

Future Star

Hannah was never a big dancer, but Ethan LOVES to dance, and he seems to have some rhythm, too! I don't post many videos, but this one is worth watching! (it's only 9 seconds long)

My future jazz band star!

Spring Break wrap up - 2013

Well, I've been way too busy being  super mom this week to blog - ha! It's been spring break here and with no school, no dancing and no choir, we've had some extra time to do some fun things!

We started our Monday morning off right by sleeping late and then getting donuts!

Nothing makes that girl happier than a pink sprinkle donut.  Then we were off to Chuck E. Cheese!

Ethan wasn't so sure about this thing, but he gave me a couple smiles so I don't think he was too traumatized.  Chuck E. Cheese can be exhausting with two kids and apparently this is the place to be during spring break! It was definitely more crowded than an average Monday morning.  Chucky made an appearance, but we steered clear.  My kids are scared of him - can't blame them!

Tuesday we woke up all under the weather.  Even Wes missed work because his allergies and sinuses were bothering him.  So, we laid low,  but that afternoon I just couldn't stay cooped up inside because it was so pretty outside.  So, me and the kids went to the "castle" park, as Hannah calls it.

With each trip the the park Ethan gets a little easier, and alot more brave.

Tuesday night Hannah stayed up way past her bed time and we had a picnic in the living room.  Some days she's just soooo sweet and in the best mood and I just don't want the day to end so I end up letting her stay awake forever.

Wednesday we did something new.  I've heard of my friends taking their kids the airport to watch airplanes take off, but I didn't ever think it was anything Hannah would enjoy.  Well, now that we have a boy who is obsessed with airplanes, I thought we would try it out....and I'm SO glad we did!

Ethan loved it!! Cousin Andrew came along too and I think he enjoyed being out, too!
Hannah cared way more about lunch time than she did about the planes. I think she asked me 400 times when we were going to have our picnic lunch.

Wednesday night Hannah and I made cookies...sorta. She begged and begged to do it, I got all the stuff out, she made 1 cookie and then decided she wanted to go play outside with Daddy and Ethan!

On Thursday we headed to the bounce place!

It was wild and i didn't get many pictures, but I was able to get Hannah to slow down for a minute to get this cute picture of her.

Tomorrow we are heading to our church park with some friends to end our fun week. I probably won't have time to blog tomorrow because 5 cousins are spending the night tomorrow!! It's going to be a CRAZY, fun night!! We are excited, but I better rest up tonight!

So glad I can spend these moments with my sweet babies.

1 year

I can't believe I almost let this 1 year anniversary pass me by.  March 5, 2012 was the day Ethan got his tubes in his ears!

This was a monumental day for our family!! We had some terrible months before this day and it was a long awaited day for us!

I will never, ever pretend to know how it's like have a really sick child, but I think that season of my life gave me just a glimpse of how exhausting it can be to give so much to a child and you still can't bring them comfort.  I've known many kids to have tubes, but I truly feel like poor little Ethan had it much worse than some.  He lived with a constant ear infection for almost 6 months and medicine wouldn't cure it.

Ethan was almost 10 months when he got his tubes and can you believe since he's had them we haven't had ONE ear infection!? There was one time that his ear drained a little, but the doctor said it wasn't an infection.  Praise God for modern medicine! So thankful my little guy hasn't had to deal with painful infections in over a year!

March 5..a day that will go down in my book for a life changing moment!

Frozen treats

Wednesday afternoon Hannah started not feeling so well.  She had a few tummy issues and in a sweet voice said "mommy, can we get a star popsicle from Dairy Queen?" Well how could I turn that down!? I will also never turn down an opportunity to get a half price coke during happy hour :)

Looks like her popsicle made her feel better!  Ethan got to benefit, too!

I made Ethan take his outside, and I'm glad I did! That boy can make a mess out of goldfish, you can only image what he does with ice cream!

I'm ready for summer days where we eat popsicles every day while jumping in and out of the pool!!

Wordless Wednesday - Sillies
