2 Months!

My precious baby will be two months old tomorrow! AMAZING how time flies. I remember her birthday like yesterday. The emotions of that day constantly play out in my head. My life changed forever, and I’m loving every second. God has truly blessed us with a perfect, healthy and whole little girl. She’s an incredible blessing to us and we are honored to be her parents.

We had her 2 month vaccines today. It was a tearful day for both of us! Hannah weighs 9 lbs., 12 oz. (26th percentile) and is 21.5 inches long (21st percentile). She’s a growing little girl and the doctor said she continues to look wonderful (which we already knew). He went on to say that she was the cutest baby he’d ever treated (along with her cousin, Marley). Just kidding!! But we know he was thinking that. Ha!

I’ve been busy working on tutu bow holders. I’ve been having lots of fun doing it, and created a tutu blog with some information and pictures.Click here to see it!

We’ve been discussing the possibility of going on a little vacation for our 5 year anniversary in August. We’ve learned pretty quickly that travel with an infant is hard work, and limits the places you can go. So, this year we may be celebrating this milestone at home with a chick flick and pop corn!

That’s all the exciting news for now. Stay tuned!

This Week

So, what does a stay at home mom do, anyway? Well, this week I've been.....

working on crafty little projects

watching movies

catching up on household chores

and TRYING to get some sun! (I only last about 15 minutes...It's so H-O-T!)

But don't be fooled, life is BUSY! Hannah is awake so much more now, so we spend LOTS of time talking, reading, listening to music, dancing, and just being together. My schedule has adapted to hers, but in a good way. I love that when I leave the house I have to think about diapers, wipes, burp cloths, change of clothes, etc. Although it's overwhelming and I ALWAYS forget something, life is great. I couldn't ask for a better baby. I don't think I even realize how blessed I am. God is SO FAITHFUL and I'm amazed at His patience and love for me.

Hannah has started smiling! It's brings so much joy to my heart!!! Below is a little video of our mobile and smiley little girl. (mainly for the grandparents!)

Poll closed!

Well, I had 27 people vote on the bow and 18 of you liked it and 9 of you didn't. Enough of you liked it for me to continue on with making sure she has one to match every outfit :) Even if you don't like the bow, you still have to think she's the cutest thing you've ever seen....right?!

Yea or Nay?

So, everyone has seen those crazy moms who dress their kids up as if they are playing dolls. Well, I've become one of them. I love dressing Hannah up in cute outfits and during our middle of the night feedings I stare in her closet wondering what outfit she'll wear the next day. My latest obsession has become flower bows. I just made my first one yesterday, but I didn't even want to take it off of her last night to go to sleep. I just thought she looked so adorable. So, below is a picture and on the right is a poll. I want to know what all of you think of the large object on Hannah's head :) Yea for you like it, Nay if you don't!! Don't worry - I can't tell who votes, or what you vote, so be honest! Happy voting.

I'm a stay at home mommy!

Today is my first official day as a stay at home mom. Hannah turned 6 weeks old on Friday, and if I was returning to work, today would have been my first day back. I am so thankful I'm not having to go back. Hannah is still so, so tiny and I can't imagine having to leave her ALL DAY! I'm blessed to have a husband who not only supports me in staying home, but is also passionate about me being here for her everyday. We have had so much fun over the past 6 weeks being together day in and day out (and many nights!), and I'm not at all ready to give that up. I love my new role as a full-time mom!

A big week!

This has been a big and busy week for us. As mentioned in a previous post, Hannah turned a month old on Monday. Isn't she growing so fast?!
On Tuesday we made a little trip to the baseball park to watch Carter's first T-ball practice. Carter did so good and watching all those 4 & 5 year olds was so entertaining. I can't wait for the actual games. It should be very interesting. Hannah got to see her cousin Marley at the practice. They were staring to miss each other.

Wednesday was a HUGE day. We moved Hannah to her crib. I thought it would be a bit more traumatic for me, but it ended up being wonderful. Hannah did great and I got to sleep a little bit better without the grunts coming from a couple of feet away!

Friday we packed up and drove to Houston for Hannah to meet her great-grandparents and some great aunts and uncles. It was a fun time and I don't think Hannah hit the floor (or the swing or the bouncy seat) the entire time we were there. The great-grandparents loved her to pieces and never put her down!

On the way

Great Grand-parents (Wesley's grandparents)
All of us
After a great visit with everyone in Houston, we headed to Beaumont to go to my sister-in-law's baby shower on Sunday. That was a fun time and we ate boiled crabs while we were in town. YUMMY!! Have I mentioned I LOVE seafood?! Hannah came to the shower with me and Granna enjoyed showing her off to all her friends that were there. Again, I don't think Hannah hit the floor the entire weekend!

Ready for the shower

Me & Kayla at the shower
Hannah also got to meet her great-grandfather (Shelly's grandfather). This picture is especially funny because Hannah is grabbing papa's checkbook. If you know me, you know I'm always teasing my papa about giving me money. The more he gives, the more I tease him about giving me more, so it was HILARIOUS when Hannah kept reaching for his checkbook. I'm not sure he found the humor! :)

We are back in Tyler now and all a bit exhausted from our busy weekend. Traveling with a new baby makes for a longer trip and a jam packed car! It was well worth it though for Hannah to meet everyone. We're looking forward to relaxing this week!

1 Month!

Hannah was a month old yesterday. I can't believe how time is FLYING by! We are starting to get into a routine and every minute she's been here has been so much fun. We are headed to Houston this weekend for Hannah to meet her great grandparents and some great aunts, uncles & cousins. Come back next week to see how our first road trip goes!
