Bildlio

Hannah has somehow discovered that Wes and I take videos of her on our phones. She's also discovered that I have an episode of Dora on there for emergencies. Well, now every time she sees one of our phones, she gives her best attempt at saying video, which comes out more like bildlio, with an occasional "R" in there somewhere.

It's so precious and it's hard to say no sometimes because she's just too cute and you can tell she is trying so hard to say video.

It's becoming really hard to say no to her for anything. She just has the sweetest (and sour sometimes) personality.  Don't worry, we DO tell her no for her own good sometimes. What a sweet girl!

New Activities

Hannah has started enjoying a few more activities this week. One is riding a bike.....or more like riding ON a bike, behind daddy.

Wes got a bike seat for the back of his bike for Hannah to ride.  She loved sitting in the chair before it was even on the bike. She really loved it when the bike was moving!

Another "activity" Hannah has discovered that she loves lately is eating oreos! Not the healthiest treat, but it sure keeps her occupied for a little while!

On a better note, Hannah has LOVED reading lately. She can't get enough of books. All day long she is bringing me books and just backs up and sits in my lap for me to read them to her. I was never a reader from when I can remember, so I hope Hannah loves reading.

Digging for books in her closet

Our pediatrician told us that it's best to choose 4-6 books at this age to read over and over. He said it will help her identify words with pictures and not get too overwhelmed with so many books that say different things and have different pictures. It makes sense.

These are a few of our favorites right now.

Hmmm

I haven't blogged in a few days, so I thought it was time for an update. I started flipping through my camera to see what we had captured lately.  Apparently we haven't been doing anything too fun, and certainly not anything picture worthy, I guess!

I did come across a set of about 15 pictures, though, that all looked the same.

I thought to myself that it's so funny that I will sometimes take 100 pictures of Hannah just trying to get 1 to turn out with a great big smile.

What did our parents do when they had to pay for every single shot they took!?

Even though each of these pictures just shows a sweet girl eating strawberries, to me, each picture reveals just a little bit of that sweet personality that is behind her sweet face.

Love you, Hannah Kate. You'll never have to worry about there not being any pictures of you!

Rain Boots

Well, we certainly haven't had a need for rain boots lately, but Aunt Christie gave me a bag of shoes that had some shoes for Hannah to try. Hannah LOVES shoes and insists on putting on all shoes that are in her sight. Whether they are mine, Wesley's or anyone else's.

She loves the boots (that are a couple of sizes too big) and takes BIG steps when she's wearing them.

Once she has them on, she hates taking them off. Now, if we could just get some rain!

The Simple Things

I've realized recently that the small, simple things in life are what bring me the most joy. This weekend was full of simple things that made me smile.

Friday morning, Wes completely unexpectedly showed up at home at a random time with beautiful flowers and my favorite guilty pleasure, a Hershey bar!

Then, that afternoon a decal for Hannah's toy box came in the mail. I have been so excited to get this, and it turned out so very cute!

Thank you, Lindsay for this great idea. I love it!! It just made my day even better!

On Saturday Hannah woke up with crazy hair - as usual. Her hair is at a point right now where there is not much I can do with it. The headband, although super cute, doesn't really work anymore. Her hair is just getting too long, So, we tried something new.

Aren't Hannah's pig tails so adorable?! It m made me smile so big!

I hope you, too, can find joy in the small things!

Mommy's Little Helper

Hannah and I had a little talk this weekend, and we decided that it was time she started helping out around the house. I mean, she lives here, too. She should help with some household chores, right?

I don't think she quite gets it yet, but we're working on it.

It may be a little while before I can hand over all the chores to her, but we are getting there!

Family Photo Shoot

So I'm sure all of you remember voting on Hannah's hairdo for our photo shoot.  Well, the headband won. Great news - she kept it on the entire time. Bad news - NOBODY warned me how difficult it would be to get a decent picture of all of us!

Hannah was especially fussy and tired. Yippie! But this picture turned out, and I will FINALLY have a picture of our little family of three on my mantle.

Thanks for voting. I think the headband just says "Hannah."

Thanks to my friend Ashley at Nicholson Photography for being patient with us and taking such great pictures! Click on the link and check out her site.

An Adventure

Wes and I went to Broken Bow, Oklahoma last Friday night and Hannah got to stay overnight with with Aunt Jenn and Uncle James (Wes' brother and wife). They just moved here this summer from Houston, and we are THRILLED to have babysitters in town! ha!  We are thrilled to have them here regardless of the babysitting.

I'm pretty sure Hannah stayed way too occupied to worry about missing us.  Rumor has it she got some special treats while we were gone.

Apparently, she loves jello, too!

I missed her like crazy, but I'm so glad she has people that love her so much that are willing to help us out!

Thanks, Aunt Jenn & Uncle James.

P.S. - Can you tell Jenn & James don't have kids yet?  Just wait.....

15 Months

Hannah turned 15 months old on August 1st. Wow, time is flying.  I told my self that after 12 months I would only update her "stats" every 6 months.  Well, it seems like she has grown by leaps and bounds the past 3 months, so I just had to have record of it.

Sitting like a big girl at Dr. B's office

At 15 months Hannah:

  • Wears size 3 diapers
  • Is in size 4 shoes, but can still squeeze into size 3 sandals
  • Weighs 20 pounds and is 29 inches long (10th percentile for both)
  • Loves fruit, hates veggies
  • Can follow commands
    • Taking diapers to the trash
    • Finding her baby doll
    • Going to the bathtub
    • Getting her shoes, etc.
  • Knows all her body parts
  • Can make sounds like a duck, monkey, cow, pig & lion
  • Can lift her leg up like a ballerina when we ask her to
  • Can "sign" please, eat, more & all done
  • Can WALK - that has changed since 12 months
  • Can identify people in pictures
  • Can get off the couch by herself
  • Loves being outdoors
  • Is starting to use a spoon by herself
  • And the list goes on and on....
What a big girl Hannah has become! We love watching every second of her growth. We are still amazed at how much she has grown in the past year, especially the past 3 months.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think Hannah would be this much fun! We are loving life at the Tyler household these days, even though I'm a tired momma at the end of each day!

Jersey Girl

So alot of you have seen this on my facebook page, but I thought maybe there were some readers out there that aren't my friend on facebook.

We've come to a point in which we feel like it's time to get rid of our sweet puppy.

We have LOVED her for 5 years and of course, we still do.  We just don't feel like she gets the attention she needs anymore.  She is over the puppy stage, so she is very calm, but she still has so much energy and loves to play.  She loves walks and being outdoors.

She is wonderful with kids!  My niece and nephew love chasing her in circles, and Hannah is getting to that point, too!

This picture was taken a few years ago at our old house....watching TV!

My sweet Jersey Girl needs a good home.  Let me know if that may be your home!

American Idol - Part 2

Monday morning me, my sister, my mom and sister-in-law headed to Dallas for the American Idol concert.  We enjoyed an afternoon of shopping before the concert.

Everyone makes fun of the above picture.  We sent it to our husbands and they were laughing because nobody was sitting around us! We got there a little early. There ended up being a ton of people there!

We had really good seats, but I still watched the screens the majority of the time.

Dallas is one of the contestants home town, so everyone went totally crazy when Casey James came on stage.

He did an awesome job, along with everyone else. I've never seen a full episode of American Idol, so I was blown away at all the amazing talent. How do they choose a winner?!

I got to see my heart throb up close and personal!

He did great. It was a fun time!

It's a ghost!

Isn't it funny how quickly things become habits with little ones?  I can do something 2 days in a row, and then it's expected every day...for example...On Monday night after bath I let Hannah walk around with her hooded towel on, instead of dressing her right out of the tub. (mistake)  Since then, there is NO WAY she's laying right down after her bath to get dressed.

She MUST take several laps around the house with her towel on here head.  What a cutie she is, though!

Redneck & Rockstar

Yesterday Hannah and I played with the water hose and it was so funny to watch her with it.  She would drink out of it, spray me with it and spray herself with it. She had such a blast.  So I stripped her down when Wes got home so he could see how funny it was.  After the fun was over in the backyard, we made our way to the front yard.

Mind you, I never let Hannah outside in just a diaper.  To me, it's a little....well, redneck! To top it off, Wes was switching out car seats and Hannah decided to take a seat. So funny! Wes made the comment that we looked like rednecks, and I agreed.
________

Today we were at home most of the afternoon and we were looking for some new, fun things to do.  Hannah kept wanting to drink from my glass, so I was trying to think of something fun she could drink from. I remembered that at Grayson's rockstar birthday party KK got all the kids these awesome sippy cups.

Hannah has recently learned how to drink out of a straw and so she was loving this microphone sippy cup. So cute!

(Don't mind those shoes....she saw those in her closet and HAD to put them on - didn't seem to bother her that they were a size too small!)
