Wedding Fun

This weekend was Wesley’s brother’s wedding. Everything was wonderful and the wedding went great! The reception was a dinner and a dance, so it was also a fun date night for Wes and I! I someone managed to get NO pictures of the couple together, but below are some other pictures from the wedding. Also, tagged on to the bottom is a picture of the twin bed Wesley built. Once again, so crafty! He amazes me.

Fun times at Sissy's house!

Since I don’t have pictures of my own kids to plaster on my blog, I figured I’d post pictures of the next best thing – my ADORABLE niece and nephew! This week I baby sat them while Wes was gone and we painted pictures. Just thought I would share a picture of the fun. I thought they would stay entertained longer than they did. I guess no matter what a child is doing, it doesn’t hold their attention for long!

Another Check-up!

I had another check-up today and everything is good. Wesley and I have been going through birthing classes, so I had several questions for my doctor that came up during class. I’m a huge advocate of an epidural! I don’t try and sell it on other people, but I know it’s the thing for me. So, I found out when I would be able to get it and was assured that I could get it as soon as active labor kicked in. Yay! I also asked him about protocol on being induced and he said that they never let patients go past 42 weeks, but I could do an elective induction anytime after 39 weeks for convenience, if I’m progressing as I should be at that point. Obviously there is something natural about going into labor on your own, but there’s also the consideration of our families being out of town and them not wanting to miss out on anything. So, we’re just going to pray about it and see what is happening as it gets closer. I’ve had an intuition that I’m going to be early, but it’s probably more of wishful thinking.

Wesley and I are headed to Houston this weekend for his brother’s wedding. I’m super excited about the wedding and having a new sister-in-law, but the trip there won’t be too much fun. I’m starting to become quite uncomfortable after sitting in the same position for long periods of time. Oh well, I’ll survive. This should be the last little trip we take before Hannah is here.

Shower & Sonogram

My sweet friends Ashley and Dara gave me a shower this past Saturday. It was perfect! They did an awesome job and Hannah was showered with plenty of goodies!! We got a bunch of the day-to-day necessities and we, again, were so blessed by everything. Here are some pictures of the fun:

I also had a sonogram yesterday at the local college here. I asked my doctor if I would be having another and he said not unless he saw a need for one, and Wesley and I were really wanting confirmation that this was a girl! We were pretty certain the first time, but after receiving so many pink things and cute little outfits, we were getting a little worried about what we would do if it wasn't a girl! :) So, we got the confirmation we needed and we were also able to see our active baby girl again. It was wonderful. It was actually really neat having a college student do the sonogram (with the help of an instructor) becuase they pointed out a lot of things that our "professional" sonographer did not. We saw both her kidneys and got to count all her toes. We also got to see her sweet nose and lips. She had her hands in her mouth and it was so sweet! I can't wait until she's here.

Wesley and I have both been pretty busy. I've been organizing and reorganizing our house trying to make room for everything. It's truly amazing the space a baby can take up. Wesley has been busy building furniture for our guest room. I'll post pictures when he's done. He built a head board and footboard this weekend and now it just has to be stained and put together. Next is a night stand. What an amazing gift he has to work with his hands!

Shower and Check up

I had my first baby shower this weekend and Hannah was showered with a TON of stuff. Does a little bitty human really need this much stuff?! It's amazing what all she needs and I was so blessed to receive so many things. This week I've been busy trying to find room for everything. Not only is her room full, the guest bath and some cabinets in the kitchen are full of her stuff, too! I'm running out of storage. I think I've reorganized things 100 times trying to make space for everything. Wesley and I certainly hope this is a little girl, because I'm not sure what we will do with all the PINK stuff if she comes out a boy!! Needless to say, I'm very thankful and grateful for the generosity of so many people. Below are some pictures from the shower.


I had my check up yesterday and everything looked great. Hannah has a very strong heartbeat and continues to be very active! She's positioned exactly how she should be right now, so that's a blessing. I'm due in exactly 2 months from today, so the countdown has begun!

Just for fun

Things you may not know about me….

I haven’t cried in months. I probably only cry twice a year, and that’s a stretch. In 2008 I cried once in March and once in September. Crazy for a girl! Especially a pregnant girl!

Seafood is my favorite food ever, and it has to be cooked by my parents. MMMM…crawfish!

I asked Wes out on our first date. He’s glad I did. :)

I enjoy playing sports, even though most people think I’m a girly girl. Softball and volleyball are my favorite.

I’ve been to Mexico twice and Argentina once. Those are my only out of country experiences.

When I was 3 months old I had spinal meningitis and almost didn’t survive it.

I hate sheets, but Wesley makes me use them anyway.

I lived in one house for 19 years, and since I’ve been out of my parents house I’ve lived in 7 different places.

I’m scared of big dogs.

Change is easy for me. I seem to adapt really well without ever looking back.

I don’t really have favorites. No favorite food, book, movie, color, etc.

In HS and college I was pretty independent, but since I’ve been married I’ve become WAY dependent on Wesley. Sometimes I don’t know if I would know how to work a TV or a computer without his help!

My first airplane flight ever was to Argentina, which was like 27 hours of travel time!

I’ve only had one grown-up job since college, and I’m about to leave before I hit the 5 year mark.

I hate bugs. Any type of bug. They scare me.
