A Big Weekend!

This weekend we headed to my parents' house for a fun-filled weekend.  My birthday is Tuesday and so right when we got there on Friday Wes gave me my present.  I got it early partly because he was excited to give it to me, and partly because he knew I could use it all weekend.  I've mentioned on my blog 100 times that I'm so bad about forgetting my camera and just in my last post I said something about not being able to get to my camera most of the time for pictures. Well, folks. I no longer have an excuse.

Wes got me this little tiny camera to keep in my purse. I'm in love! It's even smaller than my phone. Now I'll have it with me at all times. I'm so pumped.

After getting my camera and eating some yummy burgers, we headed to the park to feed the ducks.

Hannah really enjoyed it and the ducks came so close. I think they were even eating our treats right out of their hands.  I was too busy taking pictures to really feed them.

Then we headed home for bath time. Hannah and Grayson looked so cute before they got in the tub.  So many people tell us they think these two look alike, and I definitely have to agree.

After bath we headed to bed for a some much needed rest.  We took the kids to see Sesame Street Live on Saturday morning. I had to wake Hannah up to go and it was so sweet seeing her on the futon in the grandkids' room. She's such a big girl and it was her first time to not sleep in the pack-n-play while we were there.

Now for the main event of the weekend. Sesame Street!!

Hannah and Grayson absolutely loved it.  Both of them were totally glued to the stage most of the time. Hannah loved clapping and dancing and shouting "Elmo" as loud as she could.  Given Hannah's history with clowns and Santa Claus, I wasn't too sure how seeing all the puppets would go, but she loved it.

Thanks so much, Granna! We had such a great time.  I'm sorry the Hayes family had to miss it. I think they would have loved it, too.

We had one worn out little girl on Sunday.  This is her about 5 minutes after leaving Granna and PawPaw's house.

What a fun weekend. And you can expect more great pictures from me soon now that I have my awesome new toy!

Lately

Well, I'm in a very busy stage of life right now.  I'm not actually busy going and doing, but just trying to keep up with a busy toddler.  Hannah is so extremely active and requires constant supervision right now!  She's always into something and wants mommy RIGHT by her side while she's doing it.

Before I continue, I wanted to post a picture of Wes. He went snow boarding this past week with some friends and had a great time.  I'm so happy to have him back. We sure missed him! While he was gone he turned 29!! We're getting old!

So back to the busyness.  Since I feel like I'm drowning sometimes to keep up with Hannah, I don't have a lot of time to think about taking my camera out. So, I had to flip through my phone to get the next few pictures. I generally have my phone with me at all times and I like to think I'm pretty good at sending Wes pictures throughout the day....sometimes.

The Saturday before Wes left he brought home some flowers and candy for me for Valentine's day and a balloon for Hannah.  She loved the balloon and wanted to take it everywhere with her. Including our walks.

Hannah really loved it until Granna was here and went on a little power walk and came home and turned on the fan and the balloon got caught up in the blades and deflated rather quickly.  Luckily Hannah was asleep and hasn't asked for the balloon again!

While Wes was gone we tried to stay entertained away from the house, so we went to sonic to play.

She absolutely loves to slide and I think she thinks she's 7 years old sometimes. She climbs to the very highest slide and never looks back before sliding. It's so cute to watch, but makes mommy a little nervous.

Yesterday we had a picnic with our friend, Will.  Will got a new swing set for Christmas, so we went to help try it out.  The kids had so much fun and they looked so cute sitting and eating together.

So as I try to continue to stay above water and on my toes with this little girl, you may just be getting phone pictures for a while!

Let's just say I'm looking forward to Mother's Day Out tomorrow to have some mommy time!

Just the beginning.....

Well, my mom got here yesterday and she's done with Ethan's bedding! It looks awesome!!!...drum roll please...

It looks even better than I could have imagined!!! I mentioned in my previous blog that we painted the room this weekend. It also turned out so great. I love the stripes!

These aren't the best pictures, but my photographer is currently snow skiing in Colorado. We're missing daddy, but we're sure having fun with Granna.

Those are the only pictures I'll leave you with now. Hopefully in a few weeks we'll have the big reveal of a completed nursery!

Thanks, mom - it looks AWESOME!

Back to Blogging

Well, I took a little week's break from blogging. Not on purpose, but just because we've had nothing fun going on. It's been so cold that we've just been trying to stay bundled up inside.  Well, the weather was awesome this weekend, and continues to be this week, so I'm back to it!

First things first.  I'm 26 weeks pregnant today. Crazy! I had a sonogram at our local college today and confirmed that this baby is definitely a boy. So exciting!! Above all, he's healthy and the sonographer said that he's the best looking baby they've seen all semester. I'm going to act like they don't tell everyone that.

Wes is going snow skiing soon and so this weekend he spent a lot of time getting his truck ready for the long drive.  Hannah loved playing in the truck while daddy worked on it.

She definitely wanted in on the action, though.

Here she is showing me her greasy hands. You can't tell from the picture, but she was definitely dirty. Totally her father's child!

Don't mind the blue piece of painter's tape across her shirt.  We painted Ethan's room this weekend and she really wanted to play with the tape.  Pictures of the room to come soon!

Pregnancy Highlights

I've been waiting to do an updated pregnancy post after I got a good picture of me. Ya know, dressed normal, hair done and makeup.  Well, that's been rare lately...and especially rare by the time Wes gets home from work to take a picture. So.....

How far along: 25 weeks

Due Date: May 23, 2011

Size of baby: 13 1/2 inches - a rutabaga. (Incase you have no idea what that is, like me, I posted a picture.) I sure hope my baby is cuter than this thing.

Day we first saw our little one: October 12, 2010 at 8 weeks, heard heartbeat again on November 11, heartbeat again on December 9,  sonogram again on December 20, heard heartbeat on January 6, heartbeat again on February 3.

My current thoughts about having 2 kids: I'm getting really excited. Hannah is starting to understand a little more and when we're around little babies she's really good with them. We'll see!

Things I've done to prepare:  We've had the crib set up for about a month.  My mom is in the process of making the bedding and we're in the process of painting.  I've also started brainstorming some decorating ideas. It's coming together in my head, now I just have to find time to make it all happen!

Name we are considering: Ethan Wesley.

Sickness: I can't complain.

What Hannah thinks:  She's so back and forth. Sometimes she will say Ethan over and over and other times when we ask her where the baby is she looks at us like we're crazy.

Things I miss: SLEEP!! If you know me, you know I need sleep. I've been a complete insomniac the past few weeks and I'm so exhausted and worn out everyday. I hope this changes soon!

Cravings: Mexican!

Biggest moments so far:
Seeing and hearing a sweet little heartbeat. (October & November)
Feeling little, faint and sporadic flutters. (December)
Finding out gender - IT'S A BOY! (December)
Starting to feel him more and more (December)
Feeling the baby move SO MUCH recently! (January)
Passing my glucose test for gestational diabetes (February)

Nothing New

It's been a little while since I've posted anything. Mainly because we've had NOTHING going on lately. It's been so cold that we have been stuck inside and if I took pictures they would all look exactly the same - all of us in our pajamas!

We did get a pretty big snow last week - which I, of course, hated! I don't even have pictures of us playing in it...because we didn't! But here is our house covered in it.

One other REALLY FUN thing that has happened in the last week is that my best friend, Ashley had her baby!!

Isn't she a doll?!  I loved being able to be such a big part of her birthday. So fun! So until the weather clears up...I guess you won't have any fun blogs coming from us! I will post a blog sometime this week about my pregnancy highlights.

Until next time...

21 Months

Oh my goodness. Will I really have a 2 year old in 3 months?! That seems so surreal. Although, I must say that I've enjoyed seeing Hannah mature a little over the past couple of months since I'm going to be having another soon!

A few weeks ago Hannah started putting words together---and it's the cutest thing!  The very first phrase she said was "daddy's socks." Random, I know. We are constantly repeating things to her and I guess she decided that phrase was worth repeating for some reason.  It was followed by "mommy's flowers" and now she is putting all kinds of words together.

It's also very common for her to say the last word of every sentence we say.  If I say "Hannah, what do you want to do?" Her response will be "do."  I love it!

Stats at 21 months:
  • Size 3 diapers
  • Size 5 shoe
  • Size 18 month clothes
  • Talking up a storm
  • Still napping twice a day if we're at home
  • Eating 3 meals a day with snacks here and there if she's awake for them
  • Weighs about 22 pounds
  • LOVES Dora and Boots
  • Would stay glued to a TV all day if I let her
  • Loves repeating everything you say
  • Loves books, puzzles, playdoh, coloring and stickers
  • Loves bath time and baby dolls

Love you, sweet girl!
