Sad day, new friend and a cutie!

Today I cleaned out Hannah's closet to finally make room for winter clothes. We finally need to start wearing long sleeves (kinda). Anyway, I was SO SAD to get rid of all her new born clothes. What if I don't have another girl and never see my sweet babies in these adorable outfits? I thought to myself, "I don't even have pictures of her in all these outfits and now it's too late!"

So, I'm on a mission to take a picture of every single outfit she wears from now until....forever! haha. Here is picture one.

This outfit is super special because it is the very first thing we bought Hannah when we found out she was a girl. We found out on December 23 and we bought this on December 26. I was so excited! It's just a little onesie, but for some reason I just loved it!

Hannah has found her new best friend, Jersey. However, the feeling is not mutual. Jersey doesn't care too much for Hannah, but at least made mommy happy and posed for this picture. haha!

And this picture was just too cute!

Ears pierced!!!

That's right! Hannah's ears are pierced!! We were going to wait until Christmas, but I convinced Wes to get it done now. We are dedicating Hannah at our church next Sunday, so I wanted it done for that. That was a good enough excuse, anyway.
Here is a picture of them marking the spot...

Here is a picture just before the pain.
And then the next day after all the pain is over. Aren't they cute!!?

Big Girl!

Last week we had Hannah's 6 month appointment. With shots. Sad day. Anyway, we found out that Hannah weighs 15.5 pounds and is 26 inches long. That's the 35th percentile for weight and 82nd percentile for height. Long and lean....who would have thought? Ha!

At the appointment our pediatrician told us we could give Hannah anything that mashes (like mashed potatoes and refried beans.) He also told us we could start letting her "chew" on bagels and waffles...so cute!

We have started trying out a sippy cup with Hannah, and she seems to be picking up on it quickly!

Our girl is getting so big so quick!!

Parental Care Ministries

Hannah's Pediatrician and his family (Dr. Barret) have a ministry in Mbarara, Uganda. Part of their ministry is to orphans. This is an amazing ministry they have created and you can read about it here. My sister and her husband adopted a child through Parental Care several months ago and after praying and talking about things, Wes and I have decided to adopt a girl, Catherine. Here she is!
She is 11 years old and I think she is just adorable. A sponsor of a child provides them with the necessities that we take for granted and most importantly, schooling. What an amazing thing to be a part of!

If you are interested in sponsoring one of these precious children, contact me or go to the website and you can contact the Barret's directly. I hope that you will prayerfully consider becoming a part of this ministry.

Weekend Wrap Up

Hannah and I started off by shopping in Canton on Friday. If you've never been, it's a HUGE craft show kind of thing. There is anything and everything under the sun there. However, there wasn't too much I couldn't live without, so there are no fun pictures of all the fun stuff I got...bummer.

Saturday,as you know, was Halloween!!!!! My nieces and nephew came over to trick or treat in our neighborhood. All the kids were such cuties!!(London - Princess, Marley - Ladybug, Hannah - Flower, Carter - Superman)

Getting ready to go.....

Sunday (after enjoying an extra hour of sleep) we woke up and went to church. Hannah was so precious in her new dress and new bow!

And then this morning Hannah watched Good Morning America while mommy got ready.

What a fun and busy weekend....now for a fun and busy week!

6 Months!

Dear Hannah,

Today you are 6 months old. You have been the most amazing baby in the world. I always tease people and tell them I don't know why God chose me to have the sweetest, most beautiful and precious baby on earth, but I am sure glad He did! Oh how our lives have changed and and oh how much fun you have brought to our home. Your daddy and I often find ourselves over your crib after you fall asleep talking about how beautiful you are and thanking God for such a special blessing. Who knew that a little bitty human could cause such a huge amount of joy?

At six months you are:

  • a supported sitter
  • eating cereal and pureed fruits and veggies
  • nursing every 3 hours
  • giggling
  • a squirmy wormy when I'm changing your diaper
  • in size 2 diapers (as of yesterday!)
  • wearing 3-6 month clothes
  • in love with your bear "lovey" thing
  • going to bed at around 8:00 every night
  • waking up at about 7:00 each morning
  • still taking several naps a day
  • grabbing for anything that comes close enough to you
  • still never crying (which I hope every post includes this bullet!)
  • the best thing that has ever happened to me and your daddy!
I fall more in love with you each day, little girl. I hope you ALWAYS know how much I love you.
